Volunteer Opportunities
Our school has a very active parent community and we hope you'll consider joining us. Please let us know if you are interested in assisting us in any of the areas below.
FALL OPPORTUNITIES
PICTURE DAY: October 6 (several hours) - Help prepare children for individual and class pictures.
FALL FESTIVAL: October 18 - Help with light set-up and ticket sales.
REFLECTIONS: October - Help coordinate student submission for this nationally-acclaimed student recognition program aimed at encouraging artistic creativity in students.
FALL BOOK FAIR: October 23-27 (2-hr. shifts; Day or Evening) - Help students make book selections, collect payments, and restock inventory.
CHERRY RUN PUMPKIN PATCH: (Tentatively scheduled for Oct. 25-27) - Help collect student-decorated pumpkins during morning drop-off and pass out treats.
DIRECTORY: Late October - Help proofread the directory and/or help assemble directories.
DONUTS WITH DADS/ VETERANS: November 10th (45 min. before school starts) - Help set up and serve during the breakfast event.
SPRING OPPORTUNITIES
BINGO NIGHT: January - Help solicit prize donations and assist during the event.
SWEETS WITH YOUR SWEETIE: February 16 (45 minutes before school) - Help set up and serve during the breakfast event.
PICTURE DAY: March 12 (several hours) - Help prepare children for individual and class pictures.
SPRING BOOK FAIR: One week in June (2-hr. shifts; Day or Evening) - Help students make book selections, collect payments, and restock inventory.
ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES
ART TEACHER ASSISTANTS: Weekly, monthly or several times during the year; 1-2 hrs. at a time - Prepare for display and/or hang students' artwork up at designated places around the school building.
ARTS AND ENRICHMENT: As needed - Help research and choose assemblies and productions to be put on throughout the year for the student body.
BOX TOPS: Wednesday mornings from 9:00 - 9:20 a.m. Help collect box tops, program UPC's and codes.
BULLETIN BOARD: As Needed - Decorate and update bulletin boards in the school's front entrance area.
LIBRARY ASSISTANTS: Weekly; 2 hr. shifts - Shelve books and library materials; help maintain organization on shelves; assist librarian in various tasks including book preparation, circulation, maintenance, etc.
MEMBERSHIP: As Needed - Assist Membership Chair in collecting new member information.
NEWSLETTER: As needed - Assist in writing stories and taking pictures for the monthly PTA newsletter.
SACC LIAISON(S): As Needed - Serve as POC for new families with questions about the program; Provide SACC updates to be included in PTA emails.
SCHOOL GROUNDS COMMITTEE (Beautification and Upkeep) As needed - Help maintain planters and beds on school grounds; Help implement schedules for weeding, watering, and picking up litter. Help with fall and spring work days (dates TBD, depending upon school construction status).
SPECIAL EDUCATION COMMITTEE: As needed - Assist in building relationships between special and general education populations.
STAFF RELATIONS: As Needed - Bake or contribute food items for staff events.
STUDENT VOLUNTEERS: Check this box if you'd like to receive emails regarding volunteer opportunities at CRES for middle and high school students needing service hours.
YEARBOOK: As needed - Take pictures at various events to contribute to the yearbook.
